The Casper Ghosts got a sterling performance from pitcher Benjamin Last, but the Medicine Hat Stampede still prevailed, 5-3. Last threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Scott Austin earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. He upped his record to 3-2. Medicine Hat now owns a record of 46-22.

Medicine Hat won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With one out and Walter Valiente on the mound for Casper, center fielder Cal Kooijmans hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Stampede fans to their feet.

"The ending was a real humdinger," Kooijmans told reporters after the game.
