Chukars Walk Off with 2-1 Win
|
Melaleuca Field was the site of some high drama.
Idaho Falls Chukars starter Scott Saarela pitched his team past the Butte Americans, 2-1, in 11 innings. The Chukars upped their record to 35-28.
The decisive blow was delivered by Cameron Ray in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a solo home run off 19-year old left-handed pitcher Luis Montoya to win the game for Idaho Falls. The home crowd went nuts.
"Scott had swing-and-miss stuff," said Idaho Falls manager Owen Lanier.
