Mountaineers Bridle Frogs, 2-0
The Fayetteville Frogs got a superb performance from pitcher Walt Schonlebe. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Erwin. The Mountaineers won the game, 2-0. Schonlebe threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball. The win was credited to Stan Mason in relief. His record improves to 7-3. Walt Schonlebe took the loss. Grant Worrick converted his 4th save in 4 tries.

Erwin relied on the hitting of Sebastian Muro to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Mountaineers on top, 2-0. For the game, Muro had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Enjoyed this one," Muro told the Erwin Citizen. "But it's back to work tomorrow."

The triumph puts Erwin at 44-24 for the season.
