The Cincinnati Reds downed the Virginia Black Bears, 7-4, at The Sparrow's Nest. River Grote led the way, going 2-for-4 for Cincinnati. The Black Bears have now dropped 5 straight.

Grote had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a full count splitter from Ethan Bailey, he banged a 3-run home run to right-center, giving the Reds a 6-4 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Grote.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Cincinnati manager Jason Quinlan.
