New York got a strong outing from Rafaello Cantu as the Mets defeated the Texas Rangers, 7-2, at Citi Field. New York reliever Bylent Claus snagged the win, upping his record to 3-6. Ethan Martin shouldered the loss. The Mets are now 28-34.

Colton Garner contributed a productive at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With a runner on 1st, he hit a double. His at-bat helped New York get the win.

"Really good pitchers have that ability to raise their game when they need to," said New York manager Colton Whittle.
