Hickory took on Augusta in front of a lively crowd.

The Hickory Crawdads defeated the Augusta GreenJackets, 6-3, in South Atlantic League action at L.P. Frans Stadium. Hickory pitcher Ludo Rivard had a standout performance. The winner in relief was Vladko Kurtovic. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. He now owns a record of 7-4. Picking up the save was Troy Robles, his 9th.

Patricio Valencia aided the Hickory cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the first. For the game, the catcher went 1 for 4 with a walk.

Valencia attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."

The Crawdads sit in 4th place in the South Atlantic League Carolina Division with a record of 72-64.
