Asheville Listless in 13-1 Loss
|
The Columbia Fireflies topped the Asheville Tourists, 13-1, with youngster Diego Mojica playing a key role. Mojica went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 for the Fireflies in the win. The Fireflies have now won 4 straight.
Caleb Stroupe hit a 2-run triple off Ginton Hitchcock in the bottom of the first, which put the Fireflies in front, 2-1. Stroupe had 2 singles, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 3 for 5.
"We didn't get the results that we wanted," said Asheville skipper Luciano Cole.
