GreenJackets Claim Late Win
|
First Energy Park was rocking after an exciting GreenJackets win.
In a tight contest between the Augusta GreenJackets and the Charleston RiverDogs, Jay Oliver was the determining factor. The Augusta right-hander sparkled in his team's 2-1 win. Augusta is third in the South Atlantic League Carolina Division with a record of 77-56.
Augusta got a clutch hit from Hugo Lázaro. The designated hitter launched a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.
"Good ballgame," said Charleston manager Ramon Acosta. "But we came up on the short end."
