May Rips 2 Homers in 9-5 Win
|
The Columbus Catfish defeated the Bowling Green Hot Rods, 9-5, at Bowling Green Ballpark. Leading the charge for Columbus was catcher Logan May. He went 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Arvid Timmermans earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2.1 innings. His record is now 4-4. Columbus is now 73-62. Bowling Green is 70-65.
In the top of the eighth, the Catfish grabbed the lead when May hit his 8th home run of the season. The grand slam home run off Hugo Parra made it 9-5, Columbus.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," May told the Columbus Gazette.
