Multi-HR Day for Aquino as Suns Overpower Catfish, 8-3
|
Getting a good performance from designated hitter Ezra Aquino, the Hagerstown Suns defeated the Columbus Catfish, 8-3. Aquino hit 2 home runs, while scoring 4 runs and driving in 2 for the Suns. Hagerstown pitcher Bobby Barron got the win, upping his record to 6-9. Judd Mullins got the loss. Earning his 12th save for Hagerstown was Elliot Quarles.
Early in the game, center fielder Melvin Jarado had a solo home run for Hagerstown. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Suns on top, 1-0.
"It was a tough day, no getting around it," said losing manager J.R. Clegg.
With the win over Columbus, the Suns improved to 60-70.
