Grasshoppers Win at Kannapolis, 5-0
|
The Greensboro Grasshoppers went home winners at CMC-NorthEast Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Dusty De Leeuw. De Leeuw stifled the Kannapolis Intimidators, enabling Greensboro to grab the 5-0 win. De Leeuw yielded no runs over 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 1. His record improves to 1-0. The Grasshoppers have now won 4 straight.
Making an impact for Greensboro was first baseman Sahib Ali. Trigger drilled a double off Langston Marsh in the top of the fourth. For the game, Ali went 2 for 4 with a double and a walk.
"I thought Dusty threw the ball well across the board," said Greensboro manager Justin Maurer.
