West Virginia Mettle Tested in Tight 4-3 Win
|
The West Virginia Power took Nathaniel Echelberger's best shot and still were able to collect a win at Appalachian Power Park. The final score had West Virginia getting past the Suns, 4-3, in 12 innings. Echelberger over 5 innings allowed 1 run on 6 hits, while striking out 3. The winner was West Virginia reliever Zach Henwood, now 2-0. The loser was Emiliano Duran. The 7th-place Power now have a win-loss record of 55-75.
The Power got a clutch hit from first baseman Chris Archer. In the bottom of the 12th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Power.
"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Archer said in his postgame press conference.
