Donavon Thomas helped his team muscle past the Asheville Tourists, 6-5. In the game, the Charleston center fielder went 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Charleston is now 62-63. Asheville is 57-68.
Thomas had a timely hit for Charleston in the top of the eighth. With Asheville trailing 5-3, he turned a 3-1 sinker into a 3-run home run. It was his 12th home run of the season, making it 6-5, Charleston.
