Lexington Falls Again, 13-2
|
The Savannah Bananas defeated the Lexington Legends, 13-2, in part because of first baseman Mason Toma. Toma was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Bananas. Maddox Ralston, who is tied for 5th in the SAL with a 8.4 K/9 rate, was the winner. He's now 11-8. The loser was Xavier Castillo. The current losing streak for Lexington has reached 7 games.
With Savannah leading 10-2 in the bottom of the seventh, Toma came up to bat against Lexington pitcher Kieran Vásquez. Toma hit a fastball to right-center for a 3-run home run. His 17th home run of the season put the Bananas on top, 13-2.
"Same old, same old, unfortunately," said losing manager Aiden Garbers.
