Intimidators Use Late Surge to Win
The Kannapolis Intimidators defeated the Asheville Tourists, 10-4, at McCormick Field. Kannapolis was led by 22-year old second baseman Dan Stallings, who went 2 for 2 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Kannapolis now sits at 88-39, while Asheville falls to 61-66.

Yosnier Alejo went 1-4 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Kannapolis. The 24-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring walk off Adolfredo Valdez. It was his 24th walk of the season.

In postgame comments to the Kannapolis Observer, Stallings said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
