The Kannapolis Intimidators got a sterling performance from pitcher Pluto Benedith, but the Savannah Bananas still prevailed, 5-2. Benedith threw 5.1 innings of 4-hit ball. The Bananas now have a mark of 57-69.

Savannah won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With no outs and Cortéz De La Cruz on the mound for Kannapolis, catcher Travis Pogorzelski hit a dramatic 3-run home run, bringing Bananas fans to their feet.

"This team was really clicking on all cylinders," said Savannah manager Ryan McMullen. "We had several crucial at-bats, and our guys came through."
