Rome picked up a win at NewBridge Bank Park, bumping off the Greensboro Grasshoppers, 5-2. Pitcher Scott English was a major reason the Braves emerged victorious. Mason Dawson, who is tied for 2nd in the SAL in saves with 36, nailed down the save. After today's action, Rome sits at 69-57; Greensboro slips to 55-71.

English, a native of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, was dealing all game. He kept Greensboro hitters off-balance, while giving the Braves 7 quality innings. English threw 90 pitches, allowing 2 hits and striking out 5.

"Scott pounded the strike zone and made good pitches when he needed to," said Rome manager Oscar Lopez.
