Toronto Edges Chicago, 1-0
|
The Toronto Blue Jays picked up a win at Rogers Centre, courtesy of Ashton Rial. The right-hander helped his team stop the Chicago White Sox, 1-0. The last-place White Sox now sit at 25-35.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Blue Jays had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fourth, when left fielder Mason Townsend hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Vince Anthony and made the score 1-0, Blue Jays. Townsend was 1 for 3.
"Runs were at a premium," said Toronto manager Adam Luthe.
