Rocket City beat Montgomery on the strength of starting pitcher Dino Cortez's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a win, 5-1. Cortez, now 1-1, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 1 hit, while striking out 2, walking 2, and allowing no runs. Adrián Mazzocchi earned the save, his 11th.

Rocket City used the hitting of Marc Cravens to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Trash Pandas on top, 2-0. For the game, Cravens had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
