On Road, Scouts Top Smokies, 7-4
|
The Chattanooga Scouts downed the Tennessee Smokies, 7-4. The hitting star was right fielder Aldomiro Chacon. Chacon was 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs for the Scouts. At 81-50, the Scouts are currently second in the Southern League Southeast Division.
Chattanooga used a well-timed hit by Maxwell Jones to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Scouts ahead, 5-3. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Scouts manager Eric Koczera.
