Callahan Now 1-0 After Subduing Hooks
|
In a low-scoring game between the Pensacola Blue Wahoos and the Corpus Christi Hooks, pitcher Jodie Callahan was the difference-maker. The Pensacola right-hander was tough as nails in the 3-2 Blue Wahoos win. Michael Sieberg earned the save for Pensacola, his 8th. The Blue Wahoos now own a record of 65-66.
Callahan picked up the win. He's now 1-0, after putting the Corpus Christi offense in the deep freeze. Over 8 innings, he allowed no earned runs on 4 hits.
"I think every team will tell you that the pitching sets the tone, especially the starters," said Pensacola skipper Bill Ortiz.
