Drillers Curb Engineers, 8-1

Tulsa and Shreveport took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.
The Shreveport Engineers had to reckon with Tulsa Drillers hurler Linc Gemmell. Gemmell overwhelmed the opposition in the 8-1 Drillers triumph. By defeating Shreveport, the 7th-place Drillers improved to 60-72.
Caetano Florez had a big 2-run home run for the Drillers in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Tulsa trailing 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a sinker from 27-year old left-handed pitcher Noah Vavae and punished it. The result was his 6th home run of the season, which put the Drillers on top, 2-1.
"I was trying to do what I do, go out there and compete," said Gemmell.
