Big Day for Díaz in 7-5 Aces Win

The home crowd had a good time watching the Biloxi Shuckers and Alexandria Aces get after it.
Alexandria shortstop Platon Díaz was a significant contributor in his team's 7-5 triumph over the Biloxi Shuckers. He went 4 for 4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for Alexandria. Mal Radford earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. He upped his record to 4-1.
Had Mario Yamagata not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Yamagata hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Aces.
"We'll sip on a cold one and savor this win," said Yamagata.
The Aces, at 61-69, sit in 6th place in the Southern League Texas Division.
