Montgomery Biscuits starter Sam Rhodes was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Tulsa Drillers, 6-2. Montgomery reliever Matt McDonel picked up the win to move to 2-0. Woody Salley suffered the loss. The first-place Biscuits now sit at 85-45.

The Biscuits got a big at-bat from first baseman D.J. Adkins. For the game, Adkins went 3-4 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 15th double of the season gave Montgomery a 2-0 lead.

"Sam had himself a pretty good evening," said Montgomery manager Hector Bonilla.
