The Corpus Christi Hooks got a magnificent performance from pitcher Maurice Akinkuade, who muffled the Tulsa offense en route to a tight 2-1 Hooks win at Hammons Field. The save went to Thad Keenan, number 23 for him. This loss makes it 12 in a row for Tulsa.

Corpus Christi used the timely hitting of Hugo Herrera to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Hooks ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Akinkuade told the Corpus Christi Citizen.
