Castillo Tags RockHounds for 5 Hits
Silvino Castillo exploded for a barrage of base hits at Whataburger Field.

The Corpus Christi right fielder had a field day in his team's 10-4 triumph over the Midland RockHounds, finishing 5-for-5.

"My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch."

Castillo must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Silvino Castillo singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Hutton Moore in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Jeison Manso in the 8th.

Looking at his season stats, Castillo has compiled a .330 batting average and a .399 on-base percentage, while hitting 12 home runs and driving in 38 runs.
