St. Petersburg turned a fine outing from starter Manuel Chaves into a victory over the Midland RockHounds at Security Bank Ballpark. The final score was 4-1. Maurice Mick earned the save for St. Petersburg, his 6th.

Jeremy Norris hit a run-scoring triple off Merrill Zamora in the top of the fourth, which put the Flying Squirrels in front, 2-1. Norris had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 3.

"It's about putting our team in the best position to win ballgames," said Chaves.

St. Petersburg has now won 9 straight.
