Another game, another loss for the struggling Mississippi Braves.

Shreveport turned a good performance from starting pitcher Zully Salazar into a 4-1 triumph over the Mississippi Braves at Trustmark Park. The winning pitcher was Salazar, now 4-1. He tossed 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 6.

Shreveport used the hitting of Bill Nguyen to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Engineers on top, 3-0. For the game, Nguyen had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"That was a really good outing by Zully," said Shreveport manager Kip Fors.

Now 49-75, Mississippi has lost 10 in a row.
