The Biloxi Shuckers beat the Alexandria Aces, 8-1, at Blue Wahoos Stadium. The win was due in part to designated hitter Roy Mortimore, who was 3-3 with 3 singles and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. With the win, the Shuckers have a record of 56-68.

With Biloxi leading 2-0 in the top of the second, Mortimore hit a 2-run single off Alexandria hurler Myles Pierre. It was the 127th hit of the season for Mortimore and put his team ahead, 4-0.

"Being able to play a game for a living is one thing. Being able to play it well and contribute to a win is even better," Mortimore told the Biloxi Today.
