Despite a fine performance by second baseman Sheriff Valle, the Midland RockHounds lost to the Arkansas Travelers, 10-9, in 10 innings. Valle went 4 for 4 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The third-place Travelers go to 77-46.

Arkansas got a clutch hit from Kaleb Ross. The third baseman launched a grand slam home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a kill shot.

"We earned that one," said Ross.
