Shuckers Deal Smokies 3-2 Setback
|
The Biloxi Shuckers got a stellar performance from pitcher Ronald Landreaux, who handcuffed the Tennessee offense en route to a win, 3-2, at Biloxi Grounds. The winning pitcher was Landreaux, now 2-1. He tossed 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4. Javier Sanz was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 18 of 23 save opportunities.
Porter Kaplan had a critical at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for Biloxi. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Biloxi in front, 3-1.
"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Kaplan told the Biloxi Today.
With the victory, the Shuckers upped their record to 64-55.
