Aces Win, Hefner goes 3-for-4

The Alexandria Aces grabbed a win, 8-5, over the Chattanooga Scouts at AT&T Field. Alexandria right fielder Jim Hefner went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Picking up the save was Silviano Díaz, his 22nd. The 5th-place Aces now have a win-loss record of 62-56.
Sebastian Metz hit a 2-run triple off Ingemar Mattox in the top of the ninth, which put the Aces in front, 7-5. Metz had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 5.
"We maximized our offense today," said Alexandria skipper Gil Mitchell. "That makes everyone's life easier."
