Getting an impressive start from Gregg Vanderpool, Midland beat Pensacola by the score of 4-2. Bernard Feris earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. His record is now 5-1. At 70-49, the RockHounds find themselves in third place in the Southern League Texas Division.

Merlin Marshall hit a 2-run home run off Frank England in the bottom of the eighth, which put the RockHounds ahead, 4-2. In addition to the homer, Marshall had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.
