Loss to Drillers Extends Mississippi Losing Streak
|
The Tulsa Drillers polished off the Mississippi Braves by the score of 5-2. The largest share of the credit belonged to shortstop Logan Giguere. Giguere was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs for the Drillers. Gore Lane earned the save for Tulsa, his 21st of the year. The Braves, now 49-71, have lost 6 straight.
The Drillers got a big at-bat from first baseman Sam Fuller. For the game, Fuller was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 21st home run of the season gave Tulsa a 3-1 lead.
"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Mississippi manager Sandy Estrada.
