The Midland RockHounds beat the Shreveport Engineers, 8-6, at Security Bank Ballpark. Midland catcher Christopher Ferris had an outstanding performance. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Reliever J.R. Wayne picked up the win. His record improves to 6-7. Aden Miller, who is tied for 4th in the SL in complete games with 1, took the loss. Midland sits in 6th place in the Southern League Texas Division at 49-65.

The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Midland trailing 6-5, Ferris jumped on a changeup from 26-year old left-handed pitcher Aden Miller and hit a 3-run home run to right. With one swing, the RockHounds had a walk-off win.

"I'm as polite as the next guy," said Ferris. "But not when the game's on the line."
