Midland starter Dabney Thompson put a stranglehold on the Northwest Arkansas offense. The right-hander had complete command of his changeup in leading the RockHounds to a 4-1 win. Thompson picked up the win for Midland, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 3-6. Dustin Cale closed the door for Midland, picking up his 24th save of the year.

Midland won the game in part because of Gavin Thomas. The designated hitter ripped a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the RockHounds ahead, 2-0. For the game, Thomas had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Midland skipper T.J. Saddler. "I can't complain."

With the victory, the RockHounds upped their record to 63-53.
