Midland Topples Alexandria, 4-1

Midland starter Merlin Lowe put a stranglehold on the Alexandria offense. The right-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the RockHounds to a 4-1 win. Midland's record now stands at 61-55, placing them 4th in the Southern League Texas Division.
The RockHounds got a big at-bat from center fielder Louis Kromah. For the game, Kromah was 1 for 2 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 18th double of the season gave Midland a 2-0 lead.
"I got in a good groove," said Lowe. "I was getting some swings and misses."
