A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Biloxi Shuckers and St. Petersburg Flying Squirrels.

Biloxi right fielder Roni Castro was a significant contributor in his team's 7-3 triumph over the St. Petersburg Flying Squirrels. He was 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for Biloxi. The Shuckers, at 60-52, sit in 4th place in the Southern League Southeast Division.

The Shuckers got an important contribution from second baseman Porter Kaplan, who in the bottom of the third knocked a first pitch curveball into left for a 2-run double. It was his 15th double of the season and put the Shuckers ahead, 4-1.

"What we get, we earn," Kaplan told the Biloxi Today.
