Flying Squirrels Handle Shuckers, Grab 9-1 Win
Due in large part to first baseman Myles Sansone, the St. Petersburg Flying Squirrels sunk the Biloxi Shuckers, 9-1. Sansone was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. With the win, St. Petersburg raised its record to 59-53.

Brian Engen had a big 2-run home run for the Flying Squirrels in the top of the first inning. With St. Petersburg leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Gonzalo Lerma and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Flying Squirrels on top, 3-0.

Flying Squirrels manager Flip Brooks had nothing but praise for his players after an impressive win, calling the result one of the team's best performances of the season. "Everything just came together on our end," he said. "I didn't need to do too much."
