The Corpus Christi Hooks beat the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, 11-4. Corpus Christi first baseman and Ridgetop, Tennessee, native Fred Schacht led the way. Tommy Keaton came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. His record now stands at 4-6. With the victory, the Hooks upped their record to 56-56.

Fred Sluder, the 24-year old left fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Sluder contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put Corpus Christi up, 4-2.
