Engineers 8-1 Winners Versus Biloxi
Shreveport Engineers starter Nathan Tanner had all his pitches working at Engineers Ballpark. His stellar performance paved the way for an easy 8-1 Shreveport win over the Biloxi Shuckers. The first-place Engineers, at 77-31, lead the Southern League Texas Division by 10 games.

Melvin Goldberg had a big 2-run double for the Engineers in the bottom of the third inning. With Shreveport leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a knuckle curve from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Johnny Axelrod and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 12th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Engineers ahead, 3-0.

Said losing manager Dave Donnelly: "The list goes on and on of things we just flat out didn't do."
