Engineers Win, Now 82-26
|
Right-hander Logan Lepak mesmerized the Biloxi Shuckers while leading the Shreveport Engineers to a 3-0 victory. Samuel Ohearn earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. His record is now 2-1. The first-place Engineers, at 82-26, now lead their division by 15 games.
José María Maynes went 1-2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Shreveport. The 25-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Ronald Landreaux. It was his 43rd RBI of the season.
Afterward, Engineers manager Dustin Booth was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
