Biloxi and Shreveport got after it at Engineers Ballpark.

Biloxi Shuckers starter Calogero Figueroa found his groove in his team's 6-2 win over the Shreveport Engineers. Christopher Disch picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 6-2. Bruce Walker was tagged with the loss.

In the top of the ninth, Biloxi left fielder Dilan Gold had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Gold stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 5-2, Biloxi. For the game, he went 3 for 5 with 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs.

"Calogero pitched his heart out," said Biloxi manager Fernando Salazar.

By defeating Shreveport, the second-place Shuckers improved to 73-34.
