Engineers Suffer 5-2 Home Defeat
|
Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Biloxi Shuckers and Shreveport Engineers.
The Biloxi Shuckers defeated the Shreveport Engineers, 5-2. Doing his part was third baseman Dave Carpenter, who went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Biloxi starter Jeremy Curry was credited with the win after throwing 83 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 3-2. Jim Sanchez, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.
Early in the game, Carpenter had a 3-run home run for Biloxi. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Shuckers on top, 3-0.
"Enjoyed this one," Carpenter told the Biloxi Bulletin. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
Biloxi bumps their record to 50-55 with the win.
