Rebels Ballpark hosted an old-fashioned pitchers' duel.
In a low-scoring contest between the Pensacola Blue Wahoos and the Tulsa Drillers, 24-year old right-handed pitcher Victor Bustos proved to be the difference. The Pensacola right-hander earned props for his performance in the 1-0 Blue Wahoos win. The winner was Bustos. He threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Tom Farinella. Michael Jansen sewed up the save, his 33rd.
The Blue Wahoos got a big at-bat from left fielder Constantino Gallardo. For the game, Gallardo went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. In the bottom of the second, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 17th home run of the season gave Pensacola a 1-0 lead.
In postgame remarks, Gallardo applauded his team's "business-like approach."
The 4th-place Blue Wahoos now have a record of 59-48.
