The Victoria HarbourCats beat the Edmonton Edge, 5-4, in 10 innings. Victoria pitcher and Grand Rapids, Michigan, native Ara Lester led the way. Victoria now has a record of 80-54 with the win.

Victoria won the game in part because of Don Gardiner. The first baseman ripped a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the HarbourCats ahead, 4-3. For the game, Gardiner had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"Ara has the heart of a gladiator," said Victoria manager Ricky Ugalde.
