Edmonton turned a good effort from starter Jared Curran into a win over the Victoria HarbourCats at Field of the Edge. The final score was 4-2. The winner was Curran. He threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Mattie Shelby. Shannan Cummins, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 16th save.

Fredric McConnell came through for Edmonton when he hit a 2-run single in the bottom of the first. With the bases loaded, he hit a 1-0 sinker to right field, staking his team to a 2-0 lead.

"I just tried to focus on getting that first guy out every inning," said Curran.

The Edge, at 53-80, sit in last place in the Pacific Coast League American Divison.
