Isotopes Whack Sounds, 11-2
|
The Albuquerque Isotopes soundly defeated the Nashville Sounds, 11-2, at Isotopes Park. Ralph Singley, who is tied for 9th in the PCL in doubles with 26, let his bat do the talking. He belted 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for Albuquerque. Hunter Faria, the winner, goes to 9-12. He allowed 2 runs on 3 hits, with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts over 6.1 innings. The Isotopes win now puts them at 64-71.
Luke Martin had a big 2-run double for the Isotopes in the bottom of the third inning. With Albuquerque leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Pablo Aguero and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 31st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Isotopes ahead, 3-0.
Albuquerque manager Ryan Thrasher commended his team for "putting the hammer down."
