The Iowa Cubs topped the El Paso Chihuahuas, 3-0, in Pacific Coast League action at Southwest University park. The standout performance belonged to Iowa pitcher and Chillum, Maryland, native Connor Newsome. Earning the save was Skip Schott Jr.. He's now cashed in 12 of 17 save opportunities. Iowa currently is in 7th place in the Pacific Coast League American Divison at 59-75.

Iowa used a clutch at-bat from Rich Henderson to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Cubs ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

Henderson told a local reporter: "My job is to go out and play as hard as I can."
