Dedicated fans weathered the storm to watch their beloved Baby Cakes beat the 66ers.
Reuel Mitchell knocked in 3 runs to help New Orleans beat Inland Empire, 5-1. Mitchell produced 2 singles, 1 double, and 1 home run. Their 80-50 record puts the Baby Cakes first in the Pacific Coast League American Divison.
With New Orleans leading 2-1 in the bottom of the sixth, Mitchell hit a run-scoring single off Inland Empire hurler Duke Egbers. It was the 94th hit of the season for Mitchell and put his team ahead, 3-1.
