Cubs Rally Late to Nip Isotopes
The Iowa Cubs snuck past the Albuquerque Isotopes, 8-7, in 11 innings. Iowa designated hitter Charlie Lambert, in particular, had a standout performance. Iowa reliever Herbert Foret was the winner. His record is now 8-5. Simon Masson took the loss. Iowa, at 56-74, sits in 8th place in the Pacific Coast League American Divison.

Iowa got a clutch hit from Trent Wheeler. The shortstop launched a solo home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.

"The ending was a real humdinger," Lambert told reporters after the game.
