Menchaca, El Paso Prevail in Pitchers' Duel
|
The El Paso Chihuahuas racked up a win at Werner Park, bumping off the Omaha Storm Chasers, 1-0. Alejandro Menchaca, who started for El Paso, pitched effectively for his team. Picking up his 2nd save was 24-year old left-handed pitcher Elliott Welch. Omaha now owns a losing streak of 5 games.
Menchaca, now 2-1, scattered 3 hits over 7.1 innings for the Chihuahuas.
"Against this team here, fangs out late in the game, it's nice to beat them," said El Paso skipper Sawyer Sandbach.
