Evansville first baseman Heath Rogers had a good game, even if his team did not. The Triplets dropped a 5-4 decision to Reno at Blues Stadium. Rogers was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Nathan McCalip snagged the win in relief. He goes to 2-9 on the season. Alton Stockton suffered the loss. Ollie De Los Santos closed it out for his 12th save.
Alex Stallings provided some late-game heroics for Reno. In the bottom of the eighth inning, he hit a run-scoring double. It came on a 2-2 fastball from Alton Stockton and propelled Reno to a 5-4 lead.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Stallings told the Reno Gazette.
Reno is now 59-73.
