Big Day by Risher Sparks 5-4 Honolulu Win
|
ThunderSharks shortstop Noah Risher left his mark on his team's 5-4 win over the Iowa Cubs. Risher, the 34th overall pick in the 2064 draft, was 4-4 with a triple and 2 doubles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for Honolulu in the contest. Harley Kniffen closed out the game, earning his 2nd save. After today's action, Honolulu sits at 74-57, while Iowa falls to 61-70.
Risher had a game-changing double in the bottom of the sixth. On a 2-2 cutter from Alirio Contreras, he banged a run-scoring double to center, giving the ThunderSharks a 5-4 lead. It was the 6th double of the year for Risher.
"When their pitchers are leaving stuff over the heart of the plate, we're not missing it," said Honolulu manager Neil Kuntz.
